In 2012, Terminal City Club made the decision to “adopt” Admiral Seymour Elementary School. “Adopt-a-School” was inspired by a story published last year detailing the pleas of an inner-city school teacher, Carrie Gelson, who wanted people to know that her elementary students were desperately in need of basic essentials: warm clothing, coats, socks, shoes and nutritious snacks.
Why Seymour Admiral Elementary?
We consider community involvement to be an important role of the Club, and Seymour Elementary, being located less than 3 km from our front door, definitely qualifies. Through our generous support, contributions and volunteers, we hope to not only provide these students with some of their basic needs, but to also create opportunities that inspire.
